Postcrossing postcard sent on the 31st January; received on the 16th February
Postcard image: Main Narzan Baths, Kislovodsk
____________________________________________________________________
Kislovodsk, (a toponym that would translate into "Sour Waters") is a Russian city placed between the Caspian and Black seas and famous for its many spas, it seems. Another call to fame stems from the fact that it was also the birthplace of writer and 1970 Literature Nobel prize laureate Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn (1918-2008), famous for his novels highly critical of the communist regime, of which the mos famous is "Thje Goulag Archipelago".
Tank you Elena, for a nice postcard, from an interesting place.
Stamps:
- Self-adhesive 5, 6 and 50 Rubles stamp, part of the 7th definitive issue of the Russian Federation, started in 2019. They exhibit the State Postal Administration Emblem and were issued on 07AUG2019.
Unfortunately I cannot read the rather light postmark.
