The second cover I got from Roman in Poland on the same date featured some aviation related stamps, something which I always appreciate a lot, given my love for things with wings.
Dziękuję bardzo, Roman!
As usual also, Roman included a little explanatory note, which is always highly welcome given my absolute lack of understanding of Polish.
As such I was able to learn that the two 4.90 Zloty se-tenant stamps issued on 30SEP2025 celebrate the 100 years of the "School of Eagles" the Polish Air Force Academy, with a 1930s photograph of a line-up of what could be PWS-16 trainers filling the foreground of the first stamp with the facade of the academy in the background and two servicemen holding presumably the Air Force flag.
The second stamp illustrated with three PZL 130 Orlik TC-1 trainers in flight, of the Air Force Academy, was calling on the attention to the 2025 Radom Airshow (this being Poland's most celebrated airshow) which was also honouring the centenary of the Air Force Academy.
Sadly, the event, which should have taken place on the 29th and 30 August, was cancelled because on the 29th, while practicing for the display, a Polish pilot was unfortunately killed in an accident with an F-16 jet.
Again, postage was completed with a 20 grosz definitive stamp of the flowers and fruits series, issued on 06JUL2016, bearing the image of a Saffron plant, Crocus sp, one of my favourite flowers.
